Uniquely Wired Network
About us

We're building the spaces we wish we'd walked into and the one-stop shop financial services has never had.

Uniquely Wired Network started because we were tired of masking at work - and tired of watching other people have to do the same. It began as something for neurodivergent professionals, then grew, because the need turned out to be far bigger than one group. Today we're working towards being the leading educational resource for financial planners and their clients.

"Different isn't a deficit. It's an operating system that, given the right environment, runs brilliantly."

Why we exist

An estimated 1 in 5 people is neurodivergent. Life rarely reflects it.

ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Tourette's, personality disorders, PTSD and more - uniquely wired minds bring pattern-spotting, hyperfocus, creativity and honesty that teams desperately need. Yet most workplaces, and most financial services, are still designed around one default brain.

We're not here to "fix" anyone. We're here to share the adjustments, language and confidence that let people do their best work - and to give employers, allies and financial planners a no-jargon route to genuinely supporting the people around them.

The people behind it

Anna & Zoe

Anna Butcher

Anna Butcher

Founder & Community Lead

Anna has spent her career in financial services watching great people burn out, check out, and quietly struggle - often for no reason other than the profession wasn't built with them in mind. Proudly neurodivergent, she wanted to drive the change she needed to see. She believes financial services carries a responsibility for neuroinclusion, and that real change only happens when everyone - professionals, firms and advisers - comes together as one movement toward a better, kinder profession.

Zoe Bennett

Zoe Bennett

Digital Experience Lead & Community Support

Zoe's neuro-spicy brain and career in financial services tech mean she knows exactly what makes a digital experience work and what quietly fails people. She leads how UWN uses, shapes and engages with technology across the community, with a focus on intuitive, inclusive design that makes every interaction - events, resources, everyday engagement - feel seamless, accessible and welcoming. She's driving the evolution of our digital space so members can connect more easily, find what they need, and feel supported at every step.

What we stand for

Five things we believe

01

Practical over preachy

Less awareness-month poster, more "here's the exact email to send your manager."

02

Bite-sized by design

Everything is built to be skimmable. No 40-page PDFs, no overwhelm.

03

Safe enough to be honest

Chatham House rules and an anti-bitching policy keep this a space worth trusting.

04

Access is the default

Captions, calm mode, multiple formats, quiet rooms - built in, not bolted on.

05

Allies welcome

Managers and colleagues who want to get it right belong here too.

Uniquely wired, brilliantly capable.

To everyone who shows up

Our collective promises

The commitments we make to you - not aspirations, but the floor we hold ourselves to.

We'll keep it affordable. Pay-what-you-can or low-cost, always.

We'll never out you. Chatham House rules, every single time.

We'll centre lived experience, not just credentials.

We'll keep it bite-sized. No overwhelm, no 40-page PDFs.

We'll build it with you, not at you - your feedback shapes what's next.

We'll protect this space. Boundaries held, kindly but firmly.

Chatham House rules

You're free to use what you learn here, but never reveal who said it or where they work. No attribution, screenshots or quoting members by name without their explicit permission.

Anti-bitching policy

Frustration is welcome - we've all been there. But we go after problems, systems and ideas, never people. No naming-and-shaming employers or members, no pile-ons, no gossip dressed up as venting.

Professional, human tone

Talk like a supportive colleague, not a corporate memo or an anonymous troll. Plain language, good faith, and patience with people who are still learning.

Decorum & boundaries

No medical or legal advice presented as fact, no selling or recruiting without asking a moderator, and no DMing members who haven't invited it. Respect a "no" the first time.

Access & care

Add content warnings for heavy topics, keep things readable, and assume positive intent. If you need to step away mid-conversation, that's completely fine.

Sound like your kind of room?

There's a seat for you - bring your whole, uniquely wired self.
